The Attorney-General and Minister for Justice, Dr. Dominic Ayine, will address the media on Monday, March 24, 2025, regarding ongoing investigations and efforts to recover public funds as part of the government’s anti-corruption initiative, Operation Recover All Loots (ORAL).
Minister for Government Communication, Felix Kwakye Ofosu, disclosed this in a Facebook post on March 22.
In recent weeks, Dr. Ayine has authorized multiple actions targeting individuals linked to high-profile corruption cases. One such case involves Professor Christopher Ameyaw-Akumfi, former Board Chairman of the Ghana Infrastructure Investment Fund (GIIF) and the Public Procurement Authority (PPA), who was detained by the National Intelligence Bureau (NIB) on February 23 over his alleged approval of a $2 million payment under GIIF.
Additionally, law enforcement agencies have been directed to question other individuals implicated in the investigations.
Findings from the ORAL report reveal 36 cases involving an estimated $20.49 billion in potentially recoverable public funds.
On Wednesday, March 19, 2025, state security officials conducted a search at the residence of former Bank of Ghana Governor, Dr. Ernest Addison. Deputy Attorney-General Justice Srem-Sai confirmed that the operation was carried out with a valid court warrant and in accordance with legal procedures.
Monday’s briefing is expected to provide updates on the investigations and outline measures to recover misappropriated public funds.
