Elom Anang, the tenacious spouse of Adjetey Annang, has published a highly intimate story of their struggle with infertility, detailing how their desperation drove them to investigate many churches in search of comfort and solutions.
Elom spoke openly and honestly about the difficulties they faced, the emotional ups and downs they experienced, and the priceless lessons they discovered along the way.
Elom described an event that made them feel vulnerable, saying, “I remember a really humiliating encounter after church when someone approached us in the parking lot and offered prayers. Due to the fact that we were attempting to keep our troubles quiet, it was humiliating and inconsiderate.
This terrible incident perfectly encapsulated the insensitivity they had to deal with in order to keep their hardships hidden from the public.
Elom found herself attending a variety of religious services, particularly those with prophetic ministries, driven by an unwavering desire to become pregnant.
Truthfully, the demands got to me more than Adjetey, she said after thinking back on her behaviour. In pursuit of solutions, I attended a lot of church services, especially prophetic ones.
But as time passed, Elom began to suspect that some people might have taken advantage of her gullibility by giving her the words she craved, regardless of their veracity.
In her regretful words, “I started realizing that some people were perhaps taking advantage of my desperation and would tell me anything I wanted to hear.”
Elorm felt misled and unsure after one particular episode. “There was a time when a prophet told me I would get pregnant in a few months,” she recounted. These months, though, were without any pregnancy symptoms. To my amazement, this person came back with a very different message, pleading with me to get right with God.
Such things made her feel guilty and made her question her religion, and they weighed heavy on her conscience.
Elom admitted, “These manipulations ultimately left me feeling guilty and unconvinced in my faith and the love I had for God.”
Elom and Adjetey took courage from their unwavering faith despite the difficult voyage.
But our steadfast faith was what kept us going, Elom emphasized. Action followed faith. We were aware of the value of persistence and made the commitment to never give up.
They were led through the darkest times by their unwavering will and faith in a higher power.
Elom and Adjetey’s medical exams found no underlying health conditions. Elorm recalled that their doctors had encouraged them, saying, “The doctors advised us to relieve the burden of trying to conceive and instead focus on enjoying each other’s company and embracing relaxation.”
They focused on resolving any unresolved difficulties in their relationship during this period of rest, strengthening their bond in the process.
Adjetey’s unflinching assistance was crucial to their journey. Adjetey “proved to be an unwavering pillar of support, welcoming every suggested medical procedure with open arms,” Elom said in her thank-you note.
Elom said that Adjetey Anang defied expectations by actively engaging in each phase of the procedure, which is unusual for men in a country where fertility issues are frequently difficult to resolve.
Elom said, “We overcame every obstacle together, and even when I felt discouraged and wanted a change, he stuck by my side.
