England easily overcame Senegal 3-0 to advance to the World Cup quarterfinals in Qatar and a highly anticipated matchup with France.
Harry Kane scored his first goal of the tournament in the final play of the first half on Sunday at Al Bayt Stadium, adding to Jordan Henderson’s opening goal from the 38th minute.
A third goal was scored in the 65th minute by Bukayo Saka.
The African champions Senegal had their chances, most notably through Watford attacker Ismaila Sarr, but they did not represent a big threat to England.
