52 members of the Benjamin Onwuka-led Biafra Zionist Front (BZF), who were detained on May 30 in Enugu while reportedly attempting to raise the Biafra flag inside the Enugu Government House, have been remanded in custody.

When the Pro-Biafra agitators were detained, they had just finished a procession near Okpara Square and were marching towards the Government House.

On May 31, they were charged before the Enugu Magistrate Court and remanded in custody with their leader Benjamin Onwuka.

The Ben Onwuka-led BZF allegedly attempted to enter the Enugu House three times in recent years, failing each time. They also allegedly attempted to seize the Enugu Broadcasting Service in the past but were thwarted by the police, who also shot and killed one of their members.
