Femi Gbajabiamila, the chief of staff for President Bola Tinubu, is anticipated to announce his resignation as a member on the House of Representatives floor today, according to Channels Television.

Former House Speaker Gbajabiamila was chosen by Tinubu to serve as CoS on June 2.

On February 25, Gbajabiamila of the All Progressives Congress, APC, won the Surulere I Federal Constituency election for a sixth time prior to his appointment.

The former Speaker was inaugurated alongside his colleagues for the 10th Assembly on Tuesday, thus his recent appointment had sparked questions about how he would manage both roles.

The congressman will submit his resignation on Wednesday (today), and the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, may then hold a new election to fill the position.
