Super Eagles Drawn in Group C for 2025 AFCON in Morocco

The Super Eagles of Nigeria have been placed in Group C alongside Tunisia, Uganda, and Tanzania for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON). The final draw for the tournament was held on Monday night, January 27, at the Mohammed V National Theatre in Rabat, Morocco.

Nigeria, three-time AFCON champions, earned their spot in the competition by finishing at the top of their qualifying group with 11 points. Their strong campaign featured nine goals scored and just three conceded over six matches.

The 2025 AFCON tournament will take place from December 21, 2025, to January 18, 2026, with 24 teams competing across six groups. The groups are as follows:

Group A: Morocco, Mali, Zambia, Comoros
Group B: Egypt, South Africa, Angola, Zimbabwe
Group C: Nigeria, Tunisia, Uganda, Tanzania
Group D: Senegal, DR Congo, Benin, Botswana
Group E: Algeria, Burkina Faso, Equatorial Guinea, Sudan
Group F: Côte d’Ivoire, Cameroon, Gabon, Mozambique

The Super Eagles will aim to add a fourth AFCON title to their record as they prepare to face strong competition in Group C.
