A new edition of Togo’s national travel website, https://voyage.gouv.tg, called the electronic visa (e-Visa), is now available.
Ministers Yark Damehame and Cina Lawson, who are in charge of security and digital transformation, respectively, said in a joint note that beginning today, anyone intending to enter or depart Togo must first visit https://voyage.gouv.tg.
The website provides users with the ability to complete their immigration forms, which are required for all entries and exits from the country, apply for visas if they are citizens of a nation that requires one for entry into Togo, declare their immunization status, and register to take the PCR COVID-19 test if they have not received their immunization.
On August 3, 2020, the platform was initially introduced, which was approximately two years ago. Its most recent iteration incorporates all immigration procedures that visitors entering or departing the country must complete, including visa applications and health records.
A “Visa Wizard” tool on the portal (https://voyage.gouv.tg) lets incoming tourists determine whether they require a visa to enter Togo. Additionally, it gives the traveler the option to set up a personal account with a password. Personal data like names, contact information, passport numbers, etc. can be saved on this account so that they don’t have to be entered again for every trip.
It should be emphasized that, in accordance with governmental authorities, throughout this year 2022, the platform and the accompanying equipment will progressively be expanded to land and marine borders.
These revisions follow the government’s announcement (in February 2022) that it will digitize the procedure for granting visas and residency permits to foreign nationals.
