According to TMZ, Takeoff, one-third of the Atlanta rap group Migos, was shot and died on Monday in Houston.

The rapper, whose real name is Kirshnik Khari Ball, was in Texas for Halloween with his uncle, also a musician named Quavo. According to Houston NBC affiliate KPRC, police were alerted to a gunshot inside a bowling alley at 2:40 a.m. on Monday night.

Takeoff was shot by gunfire as the rappers were apparently playing dice with a bunch of other individuals when a fight broke out, according to TMZ. The media site added that Quavo was unharmed.

โ€œOfficers said when they arrived at the scene, they located a large crowd and a man with a gunshot wound to the head and neck. The man was pronounced dead at the scene,โ€ HPD told NBC affiliate KPRC.

Quavo and Takeoff were there when shots were fired, the police verified to KPRC. The victim’s identify has not yet been made public by police since their family has not yet been notified.

2013’s “Versace,” a song that later included Drake, was Migos’ breakthrough big success. The rap group later dominated the charts with help from Katy Perry, Lil Uzi Vert, Nicki Minaj, Jay-Z, Beyonce, and Cardi B, among others.
