In the most recent undercover investigation by renowned journalist Anas Aremeyaw Anas, Charles Adu Boahen, Minister of State in charge of Finance, has been revealed.
Charles Adu Boahen made some startling revelations to Anas’ team in a hotel in the United Arab Emirates when they pretended to be potential investors in Ghana, according to a post on Anas’ Facebook timeline made just a few hours before the screening of his investigative piece titled “Galamsey Economy.”

According to Adu Boahen, the vice president, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, will need to be paid approximately USD200,000 as an appearance fee from a businessman in order to gain his support and influence in starting a company in Ghana.
He said, when his Tiger Eye PI team met with the Minister of State in charge of Finance in UAE, he spoke about Bawumia’s financial demands before agreeing to assist any investor.
“You mean, like appearance fees and stuff? I mean he, himself (the Vice President), if you give him some (USD) 200,000 or something as a token, as thank you, appreciation, that’s fine. He’s not really, he’s not really (like) that. All he needs is to worry about his campaign money in 2020,” Charles Adu Boahen is quoted to have said.
However, Dr. Gideon Boako, a supporter of Vice President Mahamudu Bawumia, has refuted statements made by Charles Adu Boahen, the Minister of State for Finance.
When dealing with people looking to invest in the economy, he views the vice president as being shrewd and tactful.
Dr. Gideon Boako, the Vice President’s Economic Advisor and Spokesperson, denied to the Tiger Eye team that the Vice President had authorized or discussed with anyone seeking money for his political aspirations or accepting an appearance fee or token in exchange for an investor meeting with him.
“So, on top of my head and having been with him closely, I will say no. I know how discreet he, the Vice President, is and he is smart and he wouldn’t even dare do such a thing,” Dr Boako remarked.
Ameyaw Anas At 4:00 PM, the Accra International Conference Center will host the screening of Anas’ undercover documentary, titled “Galamsey Economy.”
