André Onana, the goalkeeper for Cameroon, claims he expended “efforts and energy” to resolve a problem that footballers frequently face, but says he was unsuccessful because “the opposite side did not have any will.”
Following Andre Onana’s absence from the Cameroon vs. Serbia game during the World Cup 2022 in Qatar, concerns were raised.
The Cameroonian international was later reported to have argued with the team’s coach Rigobert Song and was therefore taken off the squad that faced the Serbs. After being left off the team for their last group stage encounter against Brazil, he was eventually sent home.

After the Cameroonian FA made an official announcement indicating that he had been expelled from the team, the Inter Milan goalkeeper addressed the subject in an official statement.
In his message, he described how he has made every effort to help the squad.
He shared:
“I have put all my efforts and energy into finding solutions to a situation that a footballer often experiences, but there has been no will on the other side. However, I always respect and support the decisions of the people in charge of pursuing the success of our team and country.”
