Major General Francis Takirwa, the deputy commander of the Ugandan Land Forces, has ordered medical personnel to stop treating homosexuals in public health institutions.

Maj Gen Takirwa delivered the remarks on Sunday, February 5, 2023, at the headquarters in Bwizibwera, where the Uganda People’s Defence Forces (UPDF) commissioned and handed over various projects to inhabitants of the Mbarara District.

“Dont use our health facilities to treat homosexuals, someone comes with pampers leaking and wants treatment because he made a decision as if he didnt have brains. No. No. This is too much and unacceptable, Maj Gen Takirwa said.

He said such practices are shameful and should not be accepted.

“Someone comes and starts doing such shameful, unnatural, un-African practices and you keep quiet. Something just a dog which you give food on the ground can?t do but you with brains who eats on a plate can do, it?s shameful. God is about to fix us, and prepare yourselves for doing some of these practices even dogs can?t do,? he said.

The Kariro Muslim Primary School received two new classroom buildings and a rebuilt health facility IV outpatient department block from the UPDF, both of which are located in the Bwizibwera?Rutooma Town council.

They also provided four mattresses, a hospital delivery bed, detergents, and trash cans in addition to renovating Karuyenje Primary School in Rwanyamahembe Sub County.

According to Takirwa, the army donated the projects and goods to show their appreciation for the civilians who gave their lives in the freedom battle.

We came from the civilian community, they made a lot of sacrifices for us, and it is our fundamental duty to keep working for them. We will also always be proud to be a member of the civilian population, he continued.
