Atiku Abubakar, the Peoples Democratic Party’s (PDP) presidential contender, has requested that President Muhammadu Buhari fix the errors made by the just ended presidential candidate.

This was said by the former vice president on Thursday during a news conference at the Shehu Musa Yaradua Center in Abuja.

President Muhammadu Buhari had promised Nigerians a legacy before to the February 25 presidential election, according to Atiku.

The PDP flagbearer encouraged the President to atone for his mistakes in order to preserve his legacy as well as the interests of the nation and future generations.

Atiku went on to say that his fight to deepen democracy, improve the lives of Nigerians, and secure the future of the country’s youth is more important than his own efforts to right the wrongs of Saturday.

He said: โ€œI want to believe that this was not the legacy that President Muhammadu Buhari had promised. For President Buhari, it is not too late to make amends for the good of our country and future generations and indeed to assure his legacy.

โ€œThis battle to right the wrongs of Saturday is not about me. It is a continuation of my battles to deepen democracy and for a better life for our people. It is about the future of Nigerian youths.

โ€œI know that Nigerians, especially the youth, are traumatized by the developments, but I want to urge them to conduct themselves peacefully.

โ€œAs I have done over the years, I assure you that I will commit the rest of my life to ensure that true democracy, which affirms the supremacy of your votes and your will, will take firm footing and guarantee a stable, prosperous, and peaceful Nigeria. This is more so as Nigeria represents the hope of Africa and the Black World.

โ€œIt is my hope that the judiciary will redeem itself this time around and rise to societyโ€™s expectation as the last HOPE. In the end, who wins is not as important as the credibility of our elections and electoral processes.โ€
