Kojo Antwi, a well-known highlife musician from Ghana, claims he has never prioritized winning accolades when creating music. Kojo Antwi was born Julius Kojo Antwi.
The skill commonly referred to as music Man has always put more emphasis on feeding music fans than on focusing on winning prizes because he believes God has endowed him with something innate.
In an interview with Abeiku Santana on UTV, he made this statement.
Kojo Antwi said “I hope people don’t miss judge me but I don’t attend awards ceremonies. I don’t play my music to win an award. God has blessed me with a talent and so when he blesses me with a new song, I share it with the world”.
He observed that Nigerian musicians are currently enjoying great success but questioned the themes included in their songs.
“Right now Nigerian musicians are collaborating with top American artistes and they are touring the world but what is the message?” Kojo Antwi questioned.
