Through its ad revenue-sharing programme, microblogging platform X, formerly known as Twitter, has started paying some Nigerian creators and social media influencers.
Only verified users in Nigeria and other countries who have reached the required number of impressions on their material are eligible for the payout, which has now been made available to all users of X worldwide after being launched in the United States early last month.
If you want to get the payment, you must be a Twitter Blue subscriber and your tweets must have generated more than five million impressions each month during the previous three months. Additionally, a Stripe payment account is required.
In addition to content about “pyramid schemes or get-rich-quick schemes” (looking at you, crypto spammers), violence, criminal activity, gambling, and drugs and alcohol, X will not permit artists to monetise copyrighted work that they do not own.
Some Nigerian producers have started publishing their earnings receipts and applauding Elon Musk for the idea.
