A Police Inspector has been arrested on allegations of severing his pregnant wife’s hand over a sum of N3000 in the Dong area of Jos North Local Government Area, Plateau State.

Reportedly, the Inspector had left the money at home, and upon returning to retrieve it, a dispute erupted, escalating into violence.

Confirming the incident, State Police Command spokesperson, DSP Alfred Alabo, stated that the suspect is in custody, and investigations are underway.

“We are aware of the incident involving the Inspector. He is currently at the State CID, and our investigation is ongoing,” remarked the PPRO to the Vanguard.

Describing the altercation, a neighbor, opting for anonymity, disclosed, “The wife, who is pregnant, refused to give the man N3,000 from the N20,000. The disagreement intensified, leading to the man cutting off her hand. The motive behind his actions remains unclear, but we were deeply concerned for her well-being as she was swiftly taken to a hospital.”
