South African-born Nigerian model Chidimma Onwe Adetshina continues to be a topic of discussion weeks after her disqualification from the Miss South Africa beauty pageant.
Chidimma’s removal was primarily due to allegations of her involvement in an identity theft case. The South African Department of Home Affairs has identified the person whose identity was allegedly stolen by Chidimma’s mother.
The report revealed that the identity theft prevented the victim from registering her child. In response, the Department of Home Affairs has begun legal proceedings to revoke Chidimma Adetshina’s citizenship. According to Africa’s Fact Zone, the findings related to her case have been submitted to the South African parliament.
Chidimma’s identity document is set to be annulled, while discussions about the potential revocation of her citizenship are still ongoing.
