On Thursday, the APC road show campaign in Osun was led by Nigerian singer Habeeb Okikiola, better known by his stage name Portable. Thousands of APC fans blocked the route.

A picture of musician Portable campaigning for the All Progressives Congress while in his boxers in front of a statue of the late South-West Nigerian premier Obafemi Awolowo has gone popular online.

Portable had previously stated that he has been paid to campaign for Bola Tinubu, the party’s presidential nominee, and that he will do so with a “full chest.”

Davido, the Afrobeat superstar, was criticized by Portable for unfollowing him on social media.

There were rumors that Davido had unfollowed him because of the latter’s choice to support APC in Osun.

While Portable has been supporting Governor Adegboyega Oyetola of the All Progressives Congress, Davido is well known for being a fan of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), with his uncle Ademola Adeleke running for governor of Osun on the party’s ticket (APC).

In multiple videos, the “Zazu” singer can be seen supporting Oyetola and Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, an APC presidential contender.

Top entertainers like the DMW chairman are comfortable around Portable.

Confirming the rumors, Portable used his Instagram account to vent his resentment at Davido for unfollowing him while he was attempting to safeguard his future.

He added that, unlike his senior rival Davido, who comes from a wealthy family, he wasn’t fortunate enough to do so. As a result, he is motivated to work really hard to earn money and avoid returning to the labor force.

He said: “Open your ears and listen. My father isn’t a rich ma..I am not the son of a rich man, I’m from the trenches.

“I am the one that brought riches to my family. Open your ears so my words can enter.

“I am running and hustling in this manner and it’s simply because of money. And also to avert suffering. So that that that which my family had to endure doesn’t also become my portion.

“Once again, my father wasn’t a rich man. I come from the trenches but managed to bring my family into wealth. So support who support you. They wasted no time in unfollowing us,” Portable said.
