Deloris Frimpong Manso, a media personality, expressed her concern about how some singers live opulent lifestyles while pretending to make money from music, a strategy she firmly believed is misleading since it leads the kids astray.

Her remark was born out of an interview she had with Kumasi-based musician Oseikrom Sikanii, who describes himself as affluent. The rapper revealed, among other things, that he owns three expensive automobiles, paid GHC 10,000 for his gold grillz, and paid US$10,500 for the Rolex he wore during the interview.

Oseikrom Sikanii asserted during the programme broadcast on Sunday, May 14, 2023, that despite claiming to come from a wealthy family, he has generated money from his works and benefited from obsessives.

The 28-year-old musician, known for living the high life, claimed that he spends GHC 20,000 on each performance. How much do you think I would earn if I performed at five gigs for even a month?

Delay responded with scepticism, saying, “Frankly, you throw dust in people’s eyes. Some of you would make the pretence that you were musicians while purchasing fancy cars and living a life of luxury before being arrested for fraud. This is what is taking place. The majority of you are deceiving the kids, who believe that everything is OK while in reality it is not. Are you a con artist? Osikanii answered, “No, I’m a businessman.”

Delay seems to be worried about the impact of celebrities’ lifestyles on young people. The TV host urged the young people to watch their behaviour and avoid being negatively affected in a social media post in March.
