According to the National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC), the majority of Nigerian exports are turned down by foreign buyers.

This information was provided by NAFDAC’s Director-General Mojisola Adeyeye during the opening of the organization’s new office complex at Lagos’s Murtala Muhammed International Airport.

According to Adeyeye, these denials result in significant financial losses for the exporters and the nation as a whole.

She said;

“Over 70 per cent of the products that leave our ports get rejected. Considering the money spent on getting those products out of the country, it is a double loss for both the exporter and the country.”

The NAFDAC DG further stated that cooperation with other organizations could aid in resolving the nation’s export and import problems.
